Recently, the Equal Justice Institute has released a heart touching five-minute long video that explores the racial terror of America to honor the more than 4,000 known victims of lynching across America.
This shameful but powerful video shows how brutally Black People were murdered in this country and it was widely supported phenomenon used to enforce racial segregation. Also, the video tells the truth about a racial hierarchy that continues to terrorize the Black community.
This video raises questions: what efforts have been made to confront this evil history of racial terror? How many of Confederate monuments have been removed from the landscapes in southern states? What the government has done on police violence, unfair justice system, police abuse of people of color, punitive treatment of children of color, excessive sentencing, and disproportionate sentencing of racial minorities? Can we heal the deep wounds inflicted during the era of racial terrorism?
