According to Geek.com, After almost a decade, conservators have finally completed restoration work at the Tomb of Tutankhamen in Egypt, one of the best known cultural heritage sites in the world.
The restoration project was a collaboration between the Getty Conservation Institute and Egypt’s Ministry of Antiquities, and was focused on conservation and the creation of a sustainable plan for continued management of the tomb.
Tim Whalen, the Director of the GCI, said in a statement: This project has greatly expanded our under¬standing of one of antiquity’s most storied places.
The project will be presented in a symposium on Jan. 31 with Egypt’s Ministry of Antiquities.
