On Thursday, a spokesman for the Manhattan district attorney’s office said that Harvey Weinstein will be arraigned on Monday morning. The indictment is in connection with his upcoming criminal trial, scheduled for September 9. The 67-year-old former Hollywood producer pleaded not guilty to five criminal charges in the earlier indictment, which includes rape and predatory sexual assault. About 70 women have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct dating back decades. According to Reuters, prosecutors accused Weinstein of having sexually assaulted two women, in 2006 and 2013. Weinstein has denied the allegations and said that his sexual dealings were consensual. Damon Cheronis, Weinstein’s lawyer said, “He’ll enter a plea of not guilty, because he is not guilty.” Last week, the New York Times reported that if a new grand jury indictment goes through, it would allow actress Annabella Sciorra, who accused Weinstein of rape, to testify.
