Kevin Gates is not a happy camper.

The 29-year-old Baton Rouge rapper Kevin Gates (real name Kevin Jerome Gilyard), has been charged with simple battery after kicking a fan in the stomach and chest during a performance at Rumors Night Club in Lakeland, Fla., on Aug. 28, officials confirmed.

A video of the incident shows an audience member, identified as Miranda Dixon, 18, reaching up to grab Gates’ pants. The agitated rapper proceeds to kick into the crowd with full force, sending the concertgoer flying backwards.

“During Gilyard’s performance, Dixon reached onto the stage and touched Gilyard’s pants leg, then withdrew her hand. Gilyard then turned and deliberately kicked Dixon in the stomach/chest aread,” the police statement, retrieved by 10 News in Tampa Bay Sarasota, reads.

“The kick was with such force that it pushed Dixon back into the crowd and cased her to lose consciousness for a brief period of time.”

The woman sought medical treatment after the incident.

In an interview with ABC Action News on Monday, Dixon complained about being in pain from the powerful blow.

“It still hurts so much, that is why I try not to talk too much, or even walk around,” she said.

A petition was created by a man named Lance Cooper asking for Gov. Jeb Bush and President Obama to ban the rapper from ever performing again, and has been signed by more than 5,000 people.

Responding to the backlash, Gates released a new track on Wednesday called “The Truth,” demanding that he be respected.

“All in the news about what happened in Florida, posted on World Star or iPhone recorder, she grabbed my d— overreacted I’m sorry, two or three times I had already warned her,” he says in the song.

Gates’ last album Luca Brasi 2 was released peaked at No. 38, according to Billboard.
