OWASSO, OK — A man who got busted trying to meet a 16-year-old boy for sex is blaming diet pills for his actions.
Police were contacted by a 16-year-old boy who informed them he was receiving lewd proposals on Facebook from 29-year-old Brandon Lopez.
The officers used the teen’s phone to continue messaging Lopez, posing as the teen, eventually setting up a meeting at a local elementary school for sex.
Lopez found he’d been cock-blocked when he arrived at the school at around 11 pm and found police officers there instead. Officers took Lopez into custody and found marijuana in his car as well as possible child pornography on his phone.
In an effort to explain his way out of his situation, Lopez told the officers that he’d been taking diet pills and they were responsible for his “inappropriate thoughts.”
Lopez was arrested and charged with soliciting lewd acts to a minor, marijuana possession and four complaints for possession of child pornography. His bond has been set at more than $100,000.
