AIDS

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) –

What started as an argument between a man and a woman Thursday evening, ended with the man being arrested for intentional exposure to AIDS and domestic abuse battery. Deputies were called to a home in the 6200 block of Flag St. to investigate a complaint of a battery.

When deputies spoke to the victim, they learned the woman and man were arguing when the man allegedly punched her in the back of the head and told her “That’s why I gave you AIDS.”

The woman told police this was the first time he told her this information.

She told deputies 38-year-old Norris James Wyatt was on probation for being a sex offender and had a previous charge of intentional exposure to the AIDS virus. The woman told deputies she received the information from Wyatt’s probation officer.

Wyatt told deputies he did tell the woman that he had HIV prior to them having sex.

Wyatt was arrested and taken to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. No bond has been set at this time.
