Mob Mentality is the compelling new episodic crime drama that mob enthusiasts have been waiting over ten years to see! The storyline centers on Carmine “Car” Ponte Jr. (played by Jack Spiegs), who spent seven years in the Federal penitentiary for lying to a federal investigator and witness tampering in connection with his reputed mobster father’s RICO case. Carmine sets out to rebuild his life after getting released from prison. However, family and financial obligations and a desire to settle old scores lure Carmine back into the life.

Mob Mentality was written and directed by Isis Djata, a New York native and law school graduate of West African descent. Djata was inspired to write the intense crime drama in 2013 as she recovered from a near-death experience with a drunk driver who hit her head-on three months before she graduated from law school. Years later, Djata invested $40,000 from her personal savings to begin filming the pilot episode of this gripping crime drama. In October 2018, she parted ways from her six-figure director position in the non-profit sector to go after her dreams and become a full-time filmmaker.

On March 28th, the upcoming series is having a pre-launch party celebration. In addition to giving attendees a taste of the show, the Mob Mentality pre-launch party will include an announcement about the show’s “Let’s Make A Mob Show” crowdfunding campaign. The goal is to raise $50,000 to finish filming the pilot episode. The pre-launch event will be hosted by actor Michael Lewis, who plays “Crazy Gio” in the series. Award-winning multi-media journalist Selena Hill of Black Enterprise Magazine will moderate the Q&A panel discussion with the cast, followed by a live performance by LeA Robinson, music artist, actress, and star of Bravo’s First Family of Hip Hop with music from DJ J-Wavy.
