There’s been something of a retro resurgence in video games recently; remasters are popping up everywhere and Nintendo took things one step further with its NES Classic console.
Now, Sega is re-igniting the fires of the Bit Wars of the 1990’s with the announcement that it’s bringing a collection of its classic games to mobile for free.
Called Sega Forever, the collection launches on both iOS and Android on June 22 and will start out with five titles: 1991’s Sonic The Hedgehog, classic RPG Phantasy Star II, beat ‘em up Comix Zone, platformer Kid Chameleon, and the seriously weird original Sega Mega Drive pack-in game Altered Beast. From there, a new game will be added to the Sega Forever collection every week.
